Chicago Tribune | Band on the run Ah, for the days when rock bands trashed hotel rooms and splintered the occasional guitar. Those quaint antics can't compete with this month's alleged dumping of 800 pounds of human waste on a Chicago sightseeing boat by a tour bus driver for the Dave Matthews Band.

Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, reacting to the incident's environmental and public-health risks, is seeking $70,000 in fines for the drenching of the passengers on Chicago's Little Lady, and also for pollution damage to the Chicago River.

Matthews probably has lawyers plotting strategy to thwart Madigan, as well as the Chicago detectives who say they can prove that a Mathews bus made the drop from the Kinzie Street bridge.
